What a weekend it has been! I hope your Holiday Weekend has been amazing, busy, relaxing and full of family time! My weekend was all of the above and ALSO full of holiday shopping! It has been so fun to see what you have all been grabbing to kick off the season, and I am so thankful you all allow me to be apart of it! My brother is here visiting from California for Thanksgiving, and even though he is here– this outfit was inspired by what I would be wearing if I was visiting him! Cool, casual, and with light layers. It’s a little spin on the t-shirt and jeans with a little touch of holiday! I have worn this flannel several times already– its SO SOFT and I love the colors!

Gifts for the Girls, Teachers and Friends a Work : Around $20

 

 

Hey Ladies,

So many of you have asked about this gift guide, what to get for the girls at work or a great teacher gift. This guide was inspired by that. My goal here was to keep everything around $20, some are a little more– but I just thought they were great so they needed to be added. Couple things to remember when shopping here, and I will also talk about this on my Instagram Stories.  I will typically accompany anything small with a gift card either to Target or Starbucks. Even if it’s just a $10 Gift Card, it buys a couple coffees and are always appreciated. I like buying them at Target so I can get the 5% off, which is why I have included them here in the guide.  But totally up to you and your budget, just passing along what I like to do.

Also, I like to have some things on hand for just in case. This goes for the folks that clean my house or the mailman, typically food that is prepackaged is always great– even if they take it to a party later- the gesture is always well received.

Lastly– Time is of the essence on MOST of these items, the prices are so low because they are Black Friday Specials. Grab a couple quickly once you decide. The deals we know, don’t last forever.

Outfit of the Day: Learning to Choose the Joy and be Thankful.

Hi Friends!
I have so enjoyed our Thanksgiving, while I personally have had a very tough year, it also has been an AMAZING Year.  Yep, Thanksgiving was a little bittersweet this year. Great to have family time, but my Dad didn’t walk through the door today. He didn’t call me to ask what to bring and he didn’t take a nap on my couch. It’s rough to deal with the loss of my best friend, but amazing in knowing I am pursuing something everyday that I know my Dad would be so proud of. This Styling/Blogging gig… yep its my passion. It’s what get me out of bed in the morning and I wake up excited to do every single day. I literally go to bed thinking of ideas, write them down and then wake up excited to execute. Even while my Dad was sick, so ill he could not get out of bed, I knew that if I didn’t reach my potential each and every single day, I would not be fulfilling what I was meant to do.  I knew, that when I went to see him, that he would want to hear about all my adventures. So I press on. Honestly, that too, in addition to my Faith, has helped carry me through some really dark times. For that, I am THANKFUL. Thankful beyond measure. This level of pain, I would not wish on anyone. It just isn’t going away and I would give ANYTHING to have him back here with me. Needless to say it has been rough, but so many blessings all at the same time.  Blessings in new connections, new friends (like you)who support me, and adventures that show me that the sky is my only limit. All this has shown me that I have the power to create whatever it is that I choose. Yes the pain is real, but so is the Joy– and I am choosing to focus more on the Joy than the pain.

I felt compelled to write share this, not just in sharing more about me. But in hopes to connect with someone who might need to hear the same thing as well. If you are going though something similar, I’m not going to say it gets better– because I flat out don’t really know.  The Holiday season only opens the door to the emptiness and shows us once more about what we are hurting obver. What I do know is, that if we don’t take care of ourselves, get up and reach for the stars, you’re selling yourself short.

Don’t do that sister.

Honor yourself, and Be Strong. You’ve got this. We can do this.

Hey Girl!

Thanksgiving week is upon us, and we are looking forward to some really fun family time, football games, birthday parties and of course the Black Friday Shopping! Oh boy, we have a LOT going on don’t we this week! Bring on the coffee! Stay tuned to my stories to keep in the know about the sales and all the things!

Another great casual look to run all the errands, grab a blowout maybe shop with the girls… wait that’s what I did today in it. 🙂 Well then, that’s perfect! This top is great for layering and I love the detail on the wrists! Another favorite in this outfit is the sherpa crossbody! Sometimes you don’t need to go “all out” on a trend, but you just need a little something extra… in comes the sherpa crossbody. Available in two colors and is great for winter shenanigans.

Hey Girl,

This outfit of the day is brought to you by the worst night of sleep ever! I’m publishing it because I can’t sleep and so I might as well put an OOTD up on the blog. Ugh. More coffee please. Anywho. I’m getting more into hats, can you tell? I really want to work them into my wardrobe more and so I’m experimenting. This look I would consider it to be “dipping my toes in the water” with this hat. I’m letting the hat be the star of the show and statement, while the rest of my outfit stays relatively neutral and basic. I would love to know what kind of fashion “risk” you are taking this season? LUXE Gift Guide

Hi Friends! I know that most of us have a “hard to buy for” recipient on our lists, and maybe you are looking for something that is really taking it up a notch. Look of the Day: Plaid Wrap and Denim

Hi Friends!

The fact that I survived the weekend in Vegas is reason enough for me to say that I had a successful week! 🙂 That time change combined with wanting to see ALL THE THINGS… whew. Wipes a girl out! 😉 I have a new outfit of the day for you though, and this wrap is all kinds of fun! Sometimes you just don’t want to wear a coat and you would rather wear a blanket… basically that’s what  I have for you today!
Easy layers and a fun, statement blanket wrap make this outfit ready for anything you have going on this season! I added my fun backpack to add a little edge, and the booties are easy and edgy too! Truly this look says “Put Together” without that much effort!
