Welcome back to my annual Girlfriend’s Guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale — Volume Five!

I can’t believe I’ve been covering this sale every year since the fall of 2018. What started as a fun way to share my favorite finds has truly become one of my favorite shopping traditions with this community.

Over the years, my approach to shopping the sale has evolved. It’s not about buying everything just because it’s marked down — it’s about finding those timeless, wearable pieces that actually make sense for your closet and your everyday life.

Unlike a typical sale where retailers discount past-season inventory, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is your chance to shop brand-new arrivals at a lower price for a limited time before they go back up. It’s one of the best times of the year to invest in quality basics, closet staples, shoes, denim, outerwear, beauty favorites, and pieces you’ll reach for long after the sale is over.

As a woman over 40, my style philosophy is less about chasing every trend and more about building a wardrobe that feels effortless, polished, and realistic for real life. I’m looking for pieces that help you feel confident — whether you’re heading to work, running errands, traveling, going out for dinner, or just wanting to feel a little more put together in your everyday routine.

I’ve gone through the sale and broken everything down by category to share what I truly think is worth considering — the best investments, the most versatile finds, and the items I expect to go quickly. The sale kicks off July 14 for the first group of shoppers, and I’ll continue updating this guide throughout the event with restocks, new favorites, and anything I find along the way.

This is one of my favorite dresses I bought last year, its back in a new print AND similar boots so its a copy paste moment slightly upgraded!

Nordstrom Sale | Jeans

Its always a great time to snag a pair of denim that you can get on MAJOR discount and wear all year. I bought this pair last year and literally to this day wear once a week. CANNOT wait to try on the new styles this year.

I tried on so many pairs of jeans, and these were by far my favorite. They’re designer denim so they’re a little pricey but they never go on sale. They’re super stretchy, really comfortable, and still hold their shape. They looked great on, and I never felt like I was counting down the minutes until I could change out of them. They run true to size, and I’d definitely recommend ordering your usual size.
