Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas

December 15, 2020

Hey Ladies, it is REALLY hard to believe we are two weeks away from Christmas! My holiday gift giving list has grown this year by more than just a few (My Brother and his fam are finally close by, as he is getting out of the Navy soon!) Which means my family gets to have a small get together and have all the kids open presents!

Working from home and adding days of Virtual Home School to the mix means I don’t have a ton of time to get all the gifts I need by driving all over the place! I was able to check EVERYONE off my list using the tools available to me at Walmart.com-– and I am super excited to get gifting!

A couple ways Walmart made my life so much easier this year is that some of the gifts were able to grabbed through curbside pickup if the store had them, being a Walmart + member anything else I needed was shipped quick and for free!

My nieces were a bit of challenge since I am not usually buying girl gifts ( unless its for me LOL) So I utilized the Gift Finder Tool on Walmart.com– this was a quick and easy way to find a gift for them perfect for their ages and what they are interested in!

It can rely Walmart for great prices all season long, so I don’t feel the pressure of needing to bargain hunt my way through the Christmas Season. Its so helpful to be able to grab the gifts I know my family will enjoy, and I can get back to spending time with them!

I won’t leave you hanging on what was on their lists– So I went ahead and included what I bought for all the kids! Not gonna lie, it was so fun picking up new toys! Can’t wait to see their faces!

Gifts For the Boys:

Gifs For the Girls:

I have been getting a TON of Game Room Requests for Gift ideas– I put together a little gift guide for you for some ideas that will be awesome gifts! These would be great for all ages and perfect if you are wanting a larger gift to add to the list!

*Thank you to Walmart for Sponsoring Today’s Post!

The Best Hot Chocolate Recipe Ever

December 6, 2020

Who doesn’t love curling up with a nice cup of hot chocolate?!?! I know I do, and my boys enjoy putting all of the toppings they can fit in one cup, hello marshmallows. While the instant hot coco can be good in a pinch our favorite is in the crockpot. I know you ladies love a good crockpot recipe so write this down, share it, try it and then let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups chocolate chips; milk chocolate OR semi-sweet

Instructions:

  • Pour all the ingredients into a crockpot and whisk together until well combined.
  • Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until mixture is hot and chocolate chips are melted. Whisk well before serving. Garnish as desired (all the MARSHMALLOWS and candy canes!)
  • I have heard that you can also make it with white chocolate, butterscotch, even mint chocolate chips. The possibilities are endless! Yum!!!

Holiday Charcuterie Board

November 22, 2020

The holiday season can be so much fun but it can also get really hectic and crazy. Having a great and easy go-to recipe is a must and the charcuterie board ALWAYS delivers!

It is super easy to throw together and can be a total people pleaser with guests and family. I love adding different things depending on the season, but for the most part, my charcuterie boards have very similar things.

These pieces are perfect to grab when you are looking for a couple items to add to your wardrobe– wear now, wear later kinda thing! 😉

Just for sizing reference, I am in my normal size large in everything! Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring today’s post- All the items I hand picked and featured here are have an always free shipping and returns!

Holiday Style is great with a little extra added bling or a touch of red- I love these athleisure picks that have just a touch of special details like the Faux Leather Leggings— Faux leather on the front and ponte knit on the back! This lighter weight turtleneck is a perfect length for leggings and great for layering- comes in a few colors! Don’t forget the fun fluffy hat– its definitely a statement maker, I have these in several colors — You can go mono chromatic with an all black look or try a different color for a little bit of a pop of color!

Really loving this new combat boot style— These can go all over the place with you for holiday with the cozy sherpa lining. The lower heel and pebble black leather make them easy to dress up or down! Wear now and later!

MORE LEGGINGS OPTIONS AND ON SALE TOO!

I LOVE this full zip athleisure jacket that is PERFECT for a splash of holiday feeling, but great for the to and from the gym for later! For simplicity I have the same turtleneck tunic layered underneath this Furry and Cozy full Zip Jacket.

This look I swapped out my top yet again and have an even cozier funnel neck top on! This one is really fun, there are a few other color options so you can feel free to mix it up depending on your own personal style, plus looks great with denim!

As always, I hope this post finds you well and you can take some style inspiration from it, cannot wait to see how you style it! 😉

Cranberry Vanilla Mimosa (and Mocktail)

November 15, 2020

Hosting holiday parties big or small can be hard, but having a delicious cocktail recipe to fall back on can make things a little easier! I know you ladies love a great recipe, and this one is so good and SUPER easy!

The 3 ingredients you will need are: Vanilla vodka, cranberry juice and sparkling wine/prosecco. Combine one shot of the vodka with equal parts cranberry juice and shake. Pour into a glass and fill the rest up with the prosecco. Add fresh cranberries to garnish and you are all set with a beautiful and delicious cocktail recipe for the holidays.

If you are like me and prefer a mocktail you can easily substitute the prosecco with a non-alcoholic sparkling wine and add a few drops of imitation vanilla flavor for the vanilla vodka. Enjoy!

Spring Floral Dresses

April 2, 2020

Floral Dress // Purple Sandals // Nude Sandals

Hey girls, wanted to share something a little different today– I mentioned earlier in the week I was going to do a little Spring and Easter Outfit Inspiration– We are still planning on celebrating in our house including getting a little dressed up – it gives us something to look forward to! The boys and I did a little post on what to do for gifting and some fun ideas to get outside– and I couldn’t pass up on a chance to chat about some easy options to make Spring fun for dressing up too! (Honestly just creating this post for you all put me in such a good mood)

No you aren’t seeing double this is in fact the same dress, I just loved it so much I bought it twice! I recently found this dress at Nordstrom online (spoiler alert under $45) and immediately loved the smocking with the long sleeves. I don’t always like to go sleeveless in the Spring just because the weather can be a little back and forth- but loved that the design felt light enough that its still weather forward and even fun for a shower or party in the summer too. I loved the smocking on the neck and around the waist, this style is always so figure flattering!

Thank you to Nordstrom for Sponsoring today’s post. As always all opinions here are my own.

Kids Easter Ideas: Thinking outside the Basket

April 1, 2020

Crazy times we are living in friends, two things we know for sure: 1. We are all in this together and 2. It will come to an end. Life as we know it now will be radically different and the world will be better for it. My thoughts and prayers are with those families that are being directly affected by this virus. Thank you to all the health care, first responders, grocery store employees, delivery drivers! You are all making a difference in our lives and we Thank YOU for all you do!

Just for fun and because they are so cute, this is a picture of the boys Easter 2018. 🙂

Easter is on the way soon even though our Celebrations will look a little different this year— Our plans will still include our family and we will have a fun brunch with mimosas, set the table, get fresh flowers and wear some bright colors! We are so thankful for the true meaning of Easter and for our family its an important holiday.

We also look forward to the fun baskets, candy egg hunts etc– but this year I am looking for a few fun things OUTSIDE! Quarantine life is a little tough inside and in Ohio our weather gets a little nicer come mid April-so the boys and I thought we could grab a few ideas for you in case you are looking for some!

OUTSIDE THE BASKET! Target candy and chocolate bunnies are galore so I don’t think you need help there. Think it’s a perfect time to grab a few ideas that are perfect for outside!

Another thought we had is do a typical Easter basket and if you wanted to support a local business–grab your local yearly Zoo pass for when they reopen, or an aquarium! Those would be fun activities to get out and still enjoy all the family time we are all getting accustomed to!

On a more adult note, no Easter brunch (at least in my house) is complete without a fun Spring Cocktail– here is a little cocktail inspiration and the one we are making on Easter Morning!

Girls I hope you enjoy this family time and continue to seek the Joy in each day that passes. One day we will look back and see how much our family is closer together ( and how much we learn about Tiger King) and not worry so much about what our kids aren’t learning in school! Enjoy. your week friends! xo, Sarah
