SIZING: I am wearing a L in all tops, and both the Jumpsuits. The Camo Skirt I sized up to a 31, it is slim cut. The white denim are also 1 size up to a 31, but I could have easily done a 30 with the amount of stretch.

Look of the Day: Wide Leg Trend

Floral and spring go together like peas and carrots– but this season the wide leg trend is in full effect too! The wide leg trend has an upgrade with flattering fits and even a high waist! Try it out here like with my jumpsuit or even with a tshirt! My jumpsuit here is a combination of both those things which makes this look on trend and also VERY comfortable. Whenever I don’t have time to think about what I am wearing, a jumpsuit is usually what I reach for!

Look of the Day: 1 Shirt 2 Ways

Friends! You KNOW I love a good graphic tee! Today I thought it would be so fun to show you what I would do with one in a dressy outfit and also more casually styled. The shades of green are a fun way to be on trend, but also the pieces are versatile. I have featured LOFT in previous Look of the Day posts not only because I love the fit, but because of the sizing availability. The size ranges are Petite to Plus, which makes it all more appealing to me to help women of all sizes feel great about about their outfit.

The Outfits: First this cactus tee— could it be any cuter?! I love in the dressier version with the wide leg pants to knot it, adds JUST enough sass. I thought the wide leg pants are a fun way to change things from my denim, but also not a skirt- they are super comfortable and flattering! The denim jacket with the stripe pants is a perfect fit, I sized down to a M for a more fitted look. The utility Jacket is the SOFTEST material and is on trend, can be worn with all your spring looks! Both looks here I would wear to a school function, lunch with the girls or a Saturday with the Hubs!

Outfit of the Day: Spring Swing Dress

I’ve been cruising in and out of Walmart recently and this little dress caught my eye! You know I love a cute little swing dress! This one has pockets and I think its so fun paired with this stripe scarf! I found the scarf online too paired with another fun Spring Floral, when you order online it comes to you SO QUICK! I elevated the look with the white denim jacket, which comes in handy when its a tad cool. So perfect for Spring! What is even better is you are not going to believe the prices. I have scored some great deals lately at Walmart, did you see my loungewear sets recently?! I will link those below to in case you didn’t catch it. Just for sizing references too, I am in my True size in the dress and also in all the loungewear!

Look Of the Day: Floral Spring Dress

We’ll just forget the fact that it snowed overnight.. lol Tons of requests for Spring Dresses for Easter Sunday, spotted this look and I was IN LOVE! It really could not get more spring than this today! This dress is perfect for ANY spring occasion you might have, you know I love a good jacket you can toss on with jeans too– Literally so beautiful!

Pink Stripes and Everything Nice

Spring Layers to Love with LOFT

I put this look together for a fun “dress down” day for the office, (although this is pretty dressed up for me) or even a fun baby shower look! At the office everyone expects a blazer, but a pink one?! Yes, please! You know I don’t like to go far from my denim, and today is no different! This pair isn’t distressed, but I’m loving the upscale fray at the hem. Add in the pop of leopard with the top and this look is trendy with the elevated look of layering that is so fun and fresh for spring!

I’ve shared in my personal story before that I haven’t always been able to find clothes for myself easily, I have been shopping at LOFT for a while now not only because of the in trend styles — but also for the fit. Sizing inclusivity is one of my favorite things about LOFT. I LOVE that ladies of all shapes and sizes are able to find clothing that makes us all feel good!

Floral + Gray and getting REAL personal.

My weekends tend to be crazy booked and this past was no different! Being able to to have some time to organize my thoughts and myself really is so good for me!

I also have been reflecting a bit about my “Why” and what my purpose is here with this blog and what I decide on for the content of it. I did dive into this a bit on my Instagram Story Highlights, on why I created TheMomInStyle, and what I feel my passions are. Feel free to take a look at that as well, but I feel I can at this time go a bit deeper. See, there was a LONG period of time in my life where I felt completely unfulfilled in inadequate. I felt I had no strength physically or mentally. My days dragged on, I felt I had no purpose and didn’t really know what I was doing with my life. I used alcohol and food to make myself feel temporarily better. Do that for several years, my mind and my body couldn’t really take much more.

One day, pregnant with my second baby, I felt like I couldn’t breathe just walking in the parking lot of a store. I know when you’re pregnant, things tend to be a little off, but I KNEW deep down inside, I had eaten myself to a weight that my body could no longer handle. In that moment I felt disgusted with myself and snapped. I  knew that I could no longer do this to myself, and I vowed to MYSELF and FOR my boys- I would turn this around.

BUT HOW?! When you get so deep into something, and you create such horrible habits for yourself, and your negative self talk is SO STRONG.. HOW do you actually turn it around? When I gave birth the second time, I was JUST shy of 300 lbs. So where do you start? What I did was educate myself,  on food, exercise and heathy habits. I surrounded myself on Facebook, Instagram with accounts that I felt were going through the same thing as me.

This education/workout videos/ friendships eventually snowballed into more and more curiosity on how I can be the BEST version of myself. (You guys when I started I LITERALLY walked a MILE in my basement or did 30 minutes on the elliptical.)  My Mantra has been “My life will get better when I do.”  and it’s still able my sink . Starting small and  building from there led me to eventual success. I shed over 100lbs but my strength in my mind is something I never expected.

TODAY:

This leads me to where I am today. This blog, and my dreams of styling women- are for one purpose- to help those in the same place I was for far too long. I’m not here to preach my fitness routine, or tell you what to eat. Or even to buy my outfit. (gasp)

THE PURPOSE… is to inspire and To say ” You can too.”

You guys, its hard to put myself out there, and share so much. Going through all this though.. and the pain and struggle, its what gives me the confidence to do all this. And somewhere…. someone NEEDS THIS. I have a responsibility to share.

Life is messy ladies, and there’s so much more to MY Story than an outfit. My parents are divorced, I have a blended family, I’ve been overweight, my Dad is fighting a life threatening disease, I’m always unsure if my kids are going to make it in the world. Did I prepare them enough? The list GOES ON. But I’m fighting through it, and working hard to be the best I can be for myself and my family.

I want you to know, I am with you sister. I have a love for fashion, and my purpose is to help. Show what you can do from what you have, and If you don’t have it, hopefully we can get a deal on it. It’s all apart of puzzle that helps us be the best we can be.

ABOUT THIS LOOK:

This outfit is nothing new I have purchased, its all just pulled out and put together on the fly.  Just like we do nearly everyday. Perfectly themed for the focus of this post to be more about LIFE than what I just bought.

 

 

Nonetheless, It made me feel good the day I shot this look. So there is no reason why I wouldn’t want to pass this feeling on to you, my friends.  Just keep in mind, if I get blessed enough to have you follow along here and on Social Media, the outfits are NOT about comparison, its to help inspire.
