Hey Girls! We had our first snow over the weekend– I think we all are under kinda mixed feelings about it. LOL– I really don’t mind the cold, wasn’t always that way, but as I have gotten older I can appreciate it a bit more! The weather had me reaching for my boots this weekend, and it had me thinking you girls might be doing the same.
I wanted to round up some trending and favorite style boots if you are in the market for something a little more than a sneaker– though I love my sneakers!
Theres quite a few options out there whether you are looking for strictly trend or fashion or function. I tend to go right in the middle. You know by now in my own personal shoe collection I do not mess around with comfort or function. I am willing to pay a bit more in order to 1. protect my feet 2. no slip and fall on my arse in the winter. Ohio winters are no joke, they are surprising , wet and disgusting at times.
My first suggestion and most recent FAQ– is what boot do I buy if I get just one? Assuming you live in the same climate as me, I would only make a suggestion for a boot that will stand up against the weather, look good with ZERO maintenance required and you can wear with all kinds of outfits. Which is a Sorel Wedge Boot-– They are not cheap, but cost per wear on those shoes are going to be so LOW when you buy one and wear them for the next 4 seasons. I still wear my first pair, which I bought 4 years ago and they look great still! They are the kind of boot where you can wear them ( as seen below) styled with all the outfits for winter and you will remain not just comfortable but your feet will be dry! They truly are a quality boot– so if you are buying just one pair, these are going to do it all for you!
Personally I am more fond of the lace up style, I found myself reaching for those the most- I can wear those in most situations from leggings to denim!
A few similar options for this same look are below:
Combat/Hiker Boot: We are definitely not here to talk about one pair of boots! Lots of styles and price ranges we can be chatting about! Others that I am loving are a little hiker boot with a small bit cozy to it. The pair I am wearing here are actually dupes for a much more expensive style–– I cannot believe the price! Not all “inspired” boots have nearly an exact look, these do! I scooped them up as soon as I could! They are great to also pair with

Over the Knee Boot: Another style that I LOVE and wear a lot for a little more of a dressy look– I love the Over the Knee (OTK) boot! The designer style made by Stuart Weitzman is INREDIBLE- I bought my first pair about 5 years ago, they look AMAZING still and makes your legs look a mile long! Gives a super Sleek and upscale look to any outfit. I have also purchased a couple styles to try out that are a little less expensive, just to get the suede black OTK look, and they are also great! Wearing OTK boots are a great way to dress up a simple sweater and denim, or also wear with your favorite Legging and tunic. These are not going to be weather proof, but still very comfortable any occasion! Similar and still excellent styles are linked below!
Dressy Bootie with an edge: Are you loving my made up terms for these new hybrid style booties?! LOL This is a newer trend style where we combine two different boots to make one new style. LOL I think Gucci made that up, I don’t know. This bootie I was MOST unsure of, its not inside a style I would typically choose, it combines the combat chunky heel with a dressed up style. Can anyone say “Hello 90’s”?
Nonetheless, when I bought them I was IN LOVE! They are really flattering and the chunky heel isn’t too chunky! My exact pair are actually a designer inspired boot (looking nearly exact) that are a fraction of the price. This style I would recommend for someone who already owns the basics and are looking for a style that maybe is a little different and not everyone owns. SO FUN!
Here are a few more styles that you might like!
Lastly the combat boot: Another style I was for SURE wanting to try but I wanted to make sure the heel wasn’t too chunky and I have a lot of casual boots, so I needed something that could be a little dressy! You guys I am so in love with these boots! The pair I landed on has just enough of a chunky sole and I LOVE the studded detail to be able to wear for a little bit of pizazz!
Combat boots are a style that I was previously a little intimidated to wear just because they seemed a little too chunky and I wasn’t sure on if they would work. I am SO surprised that these not only worked but they make your legs look a mile long! I suggest these for the gal that is looking for a little more of an edge to her look!
