Floral Dress Roundup

April 8, 2018

Happy Sunday Everyone! I know that Winter is seemingly dragging, queue the snow we had TWICE this past week! I am looking forward to a few warm days myself!  Floral dresses are being seen everywhere right now, and this Ohio Girl cannot wait to be able to wear mine! Spring is such a fun time to be able to be playful with dresses and happy with color choices.

I have rounded up my absolute favorite Floral Dresses for you today and I am so excited to share! Floral dresses are available in SO many different styles that you will be hard pressed not to find one you love! I shot this weeks ago, and STILL love this outfit. My  dress speaks to me in the colors! I LOVE seeing the pop of pink! The shape of the dress is light and airy, and still flattering. Its definitely a statement dress, so I kept the accessories simple.

As always, Thank You for stopping by and have an amazing day!

My Makeup Bag: Travel Edition

April 4, 2018

Preparing to travel can be stressful, especially when you are the one packing everyone.  #momlife. 🙂 MY favorite things to do on our last trip can be found here. Makeup is really one that I do my best to stick to the essentials with. This last Spring Break trip was no different. I do my best to keep my routine quick, easy, but am still able to play with colors if I’m going on a night out with the family.

I talked a little bit about this on my Instagram Stories last week – This last trip, I took the chance to put a few new products to the test. In bringing them I relied on them heavily, from family activities to taking my pictures for the blog. And I will say that they all performed well!

  1. Peter Thomas Roth Pore Putty: This is a primer that promises to “blur out” fine lines, wrinkle and pores. I really fight with my skin on texture and it does help quite a bit on this. A little goes a long way with this stuff, so if you snag it, keep that in mind.
  2. Tarte Shape Tape: This concealer no doubt performed better than any other that I have ever used. This stuff DOES NOT budge. It conceals like a charm! I’ll just put it all over my face now…
  3. MAC Studio Fix: I use this normally pressed powder for light coverage to set my concealer and to soak up any shine throughout the day.  On vacation, I used this for more of a sheer to medium coverage since it does have foundation in it. I found that this product really works well in shine reduction and reducing lines and pores on my skin. I really LOVE this product for my oily skin.
  4. Tarte Park Avenue Princess Contour Palette:  If we were going SOLEY based oon the name I STILL would have bought it. Ha. Ok, In all seriousness, this rocks. This palette is more pigmented than I am used to, so this helped with application time for sure. The powder itself it so smooth and feels so good on my skin.  There’s a good variety of colors and it wore really well throughout the day.
  5. IT Cosmetics Ombre Radiance Blush: I have used this blush for a while and I like that it has a little bit of shimmer to it. Its not super bright, it worked perfect for me day and night.
  6. Lorac Matte Pro Eyeshadow Palette: This palette has been a go – to for me.  At home it’s my ‘everyday’ palette lately. Its well pigmented and it goes on reaaaal smooth. I can use this palette for eyeshadow, eyeliner and even filling in my brows!
  7. Anastasia Brow Definer : I have used this exact product for several years, and it has always bode me well. Especially through many humid, sticky vacations and summers.

Travel Tip: Cushion your palettes and powders- you don’t want to get to your destination and find them shattered. 🙁

Travel Tip: Bringing with you palettes are a space saver and are going to give you more variety when you’re on the go!

As always thank you for stopping by! I hope that you find this useful and if you also use anything here I would love to hear what you think of it as well!

My 5 Must Do Items at Disney

April 2, 2018

Our most recent trip to Disney, was no doubt one of our favorites. It is always amazing just to have experiences together and bond at one of our most favorite resorts that we get to call home. We have been Vacation Club Members for several years, and it has been one of the best decisions we have ever made!

Of course in our travels we have explored LOTS of things in the parks! Though we haven’t seen it all, we definitely have our favorites.

Here’s MY Top 5 Tips:

  1. Hang out by the Pool: The Grand Floridian is one of the most beautiful resorts in Orlando, and we enjoy EVERY Minute! We take full advantage of all the children’s games, beach and relaxation time when we aren’t at the park! The boys absolutely love hanging out there, and its just a great time take a break and enjoy the sun! I know a LOT of you liked my SUIT- so I linked it for you below.

My Swim Outfit:   Swimsuit : Tortoise Sunglasses : Black Swim Coverup : Hat

2. Magic Kingdom’s Dumbo Ride: When the boys were little, this is one of the rides we ALWAYS took them on, and now the tradition continues! This is really just out of nostalgia, but we all still enjoy it together!

2. Magic Kingdom’s Pineapple Whip: We LOVE enjoying a Pineapple Whip in the hot Florida sunshine at Magic Kingdom. For those that don’t know- its a Sherbet style treat that is PINEAPPLE! 🙂 and OMG is it GOOD! We always do our best to stick in the line (which sometimes can be loooong) at Aloha Aisle at the park, but I have just learned there are other locations now!

Shop This Look Here:

4. A Picture in Front of the Castle: Sounds cliché, I know. BUT I will tell you it has been so fun to look back after each visit and see how much the kids have grown! And if you haven’t been, let me tell you- it’s a site to behold. So many childhood movies and dreams have been wrapped around that castle and it does FEEL magical to see it. You just can’t resist taking the photo Op.

5. WEAR YOUR EARS!… Ok, this one is more for the Moms instead of the kids. Wearing my Ears, wasn’t JUST because they were rose gold.. although I mean.. THEY ARE AWESOME! First, the boys loved when I wore them…Kinda like that time we dressed up as The Incredibles for Halloween.. 🙂 Ha. But I kind of felt like it’s a way to let loose.  Of not being so serious and in kind of an unintentional way, they help me say ‘Yes’, to more and let go of what others might think… That might be a deep way of thinking about silly ears, but  I guess that’s what they do for me. I let go of all the ‘stuff’ and just put on the Darn Ears and have fun! After all, I can’t just wear them everyday at home, so why not? Just do it.

As always thanks for stopping by, and if you are going on a trip sometime soon, I hope you share it with me!

Easy Easter Outfit

March 24, 2018

Since Ohio is pretty darn unpredictable when it comes to the weather at Easter, I don’t typically get to wear all those super cute dresses. However that doesn’t mean that I don’t like to dress springlike! Most of the time my Easter Sundays are spent just like any other Sunday, struggling to get everyone out the door, but with the added potential egg hunt and of course brunch. So Mama gets to look forward to her Mimosa for sure!
The Celebration of Easter, means so much to my me and my family and I don’t like to disappoint. I want to give my best and I can’t be worried about my outfit, comfort is a MUST. My outfit is always on my mind, because I need something that is going to be seasonally appropriate, and fun but MOST importantly- functional!

The Outfit:

What I’ve decided to wear will combine all the things. My Pink Top was chosen from a recent Try On session. My shoes are functional and can be easily worn for several outfits (similar here). This ankle pant is an interesting twist on a typical black pant.

Those Lashes Tho

March 18, 2018

For a few months now, I have gotten constant questions about my Lashes. Are they real? what do I do? Well Girl, let me tell you, I can’t take credit for this handiwork but I will tell ya everything I know about it.

BACK STORY:

So basically, I get extensions and let me tell you… they are freaking AMAZING. So this isn’t my first go round with extensions, back in the day— ( 4-5 years) I went to the mall, and saw this eyebrow threading place that offered lash extensions too. So you know by now, I am always curious and always looking for my next beauty MUST HAVE. Eyelashes are not a huge problem area for me, but I do like to have a time saver to enhance my “no makeup face”.

So I tried the lashes at the mall… I spent about $50– for a full set annnnnnd basically that was not the best decision I’ve ever made… HA.. NO, it really was a mess.  ( I can hear my Mother now… You Get What You Pay for!). The process was strange. They had me keep my eyes open, so the glue basically was burning my eyes. This should have told be to abort… but being my first time, I just went with it.  Long story short, I ended up in the bathroom on vacation– attempting to rub them off with baby oil.. Needless to say that did not work so well, and I was left with about 1/4 of my original lashes. 🙁

TRYING AGAIN:

Despite the fact that I had a horrible experience on the first go round, and it took FOREVER to let my lashes grow back. I still remained curious, several years later I commented at the gym, on a friends lashes…. Her lashes were beautiful, here we were, getting ready to workout and she was looking FREEEESSHHHH. So told me she had her lashes done, and we chatted a bit about it, so I decided to try again.

My first appointment at KIY Lash Artistry included a consultation about my “Lash Goals”. We discussed, what I like to see in lashes and she gave my a few examples to look at to compare. They do have several different choices on styles, and essentially EVERYTHING is custom, so no two lash sets are the same. After having many conversations through my appointments, because you know I am curious 🙂 — The amount of technique training these ladies (and Gentleman) take, is amazing. The precision and attention to detail that it takes, it really is an art.

Considering my last experience, I was VERY concerned about if I was going to keep my lashes or what the long term effects were going to be.  What I learned was, if my lashes are compromised through this process, then it will jeopardize my ability to get future lash extensions. The extension is not bonded to my eyelid, its attached to my individual lashes. My “Lash Health” is EXTREMELY important, and this was music to my ears!

Taking the plunge was EASY! I hang out for a bit and catch up on my sleep! No really, most times I do fall asleep, I have forgotten how amazing a nap can be! 🙂  My appointments for a fill last about 2 hours, but I don’t mind because its relaxing.  I go back every 2-3 weeks and just continue to enjoy the effects of having amazing GLAM lashes!

I really could go on and on, but I would say that I absolutely love that my lashes are low maintenance and its so easy to enjoy the effects of having lashes all the time.  I hope this answers your questions and gives you a better idea of the process. 🙂 If you would like to schedule for yourself go here.

As always, I appreciate you stopping by!

Spring Getaway: My Must Have Outfit Roundup

March 9, 2018

IMG_4546.JPG

My Spring Break Style Shopping Guide has been out for a bit, and I recently had the pleasure of being able to spend time with my family in sunny San Clemente, California. My brother and his family recently moved to Camp Pendleton, so we enjoyed seeing his new home and hanging with all my nieces and nephew. My boys were super excited, but just like any time I travel with them, I have a decent sized list of stuff to bring with us!

IMG_4940.JPG

Here’s what I packed and wore on my trip:

  1. Breakfast Outfit/Early morning outfit.. Not Pajamas :)…  Sounds high maintenance, I know, but when the boys wake up they are READY TO EAT.. and I’m not always ready to roll for the day… And when we stay in a hotel – it’t not always easy to make food –So I always pack an easy to throw on outfit, that aren’t my pajamas.. that I can feel comfortable going out out in public in.
fullsizeoutput_43a8.jpeg

This outfit was easy to throw on and I felt somewhat put together when I was at the restaurant. AND YES.. I wore it everyday at breakfast 🙂

2. Workout Outfit: Ya’ll know Mommin’ ain’t easy… And traveling with kids is not an exception.  I usually TRY to workout 2-3 while on vacay– I did once on this trip.. So in that case, I used my workout clothes for the obvious reasons… BUT for a potential DOUBLE USE— I always have this for the unexpected Sh*t Show–Weather, attitudes and activities can all make a big play for me… and when I just don’t have time for my mules… Workout clothes to the rescue. 🙂

IMG_3599.jpg

My Nike Metcon have been terrific, easy for actually working out– or chasing after kids. — And my black workout capris– I mean.. Duh. 🙂

3.  Casual Shopping Outfit: One of my favorite things to do while on vacation… besides site seeing, hanging with family, beaching, going to the candy store… (like we did nearly everyday) or eating…. I mean do you know me at all? 🙂 *wink*… is shopping. So I always need an outfit that can be worn to walk around and just hang.  Actually, it can be worn for all of the above.:)

fullsizeoutput_4580

Hayden helped take many photos: And my Graphic Tee + Bomber Jacket + <3[/caption]   [caption id="attachment_599" align="aligncenter" width="593"]fullsizeoutput_4574 I absolutely love this color combo- its my one pop of color that I NEEDED on this trip.

TOP PACKING PIECE OF ADVICE:

Bring items with you that you can mix and match.  You can plan all you want – but sometimes you just have to go with it. So by bringing items with you that can be worn more than onetime, AND they color coordinate- will really help take the stress away from traveling.

IMG_4937.JPG

Finally:    Don’t sweat it.     Go Have Fun.     Get Dirty.      Go to the Candy Store.

Don’t let the little things get in the way. They are only this old once,  and you’ll never get them back at this EXACT time. Take your picture with them, and love on them only the way a Mama can.

Show me your pictures when you get back!
