Mom Hack: Time and Money Saving Tip!

September 23, 2020

**Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring today’s post, as always all opinions here are my own.

Hey Girls, wanted to share a little secret with you– I literally never and I mean NEVER go to the grocery store. Not only do I LOATHE making a list.  it’s also so hard to find time in our family’s busy schedule! It just wasn’t working for me anymore.

Early Last year, I started looking around for more time and money saving options. End of Last Summer I started using Walmart’s Grocery Delivery Service weekly- I can always find my regular snacks and foods I want for the boys and love that it’s easy to add items to my cart by saving my previously ordered items in my account which SAVES ME SO MUCH TIME! I have LOVED this service weekly (sometimes even more frequently) and it helps me spend more time with my family and get back to what I actually ENJOY doing.

That being said, I am happy to share & Introduce a different kind of membership that helps you get more life: Walmart+

Walmart+ takes the grocery delivery service up another level with free unlimited delivery ($35 minimum, restrictions apply). Walmart+ is not just for grocery delivery, so you can get other items you need like clothing or electronics, and the membership pays for itself with two deliveries (based on the $7.95 delivery fee)! Join for $12.95/month or $98/year.

ALSO another time saving tool is the mobile scan & go feature in the Walmart app! Check out with your phone to make in-store shopping fast, easy, & contact-free. So when I do need to go to the store, I can scan each item.

I HIGHLY recommend Walmart+ –it truly has given me back so much time in my day!

Check out walmart.com/plus/ to see which benefits are available in your area and Start your 15-Day Free Trial

Nashville + Leggings

September 22, 2020

Hey Ladies! we JUST got back from our girls trip and we are just stoked to be able to spend some time together– enjoy girl talk, eat some great food, chat business and shop! Oh Boy Did it turn into much more for me. Can we just go a little deep here a second? Just beyond the surface of what was shared on IG — the underlying theme here? Independence. (might as well say that in your inner Beyonce voice)

More on that in a minute- lets talk Nash, I drove from Columbus since its not that far and I didn’t want to be bothered with dealing with shopping constraints (Shocking I know LOL). Overall GREAT trip! My first time, so all new to me, great food music and hotel! Mind you, this was my first time plus with the nighttime restrictions I wouldn’t say I am a professional at all things Nashville- but I will tell you exactly what we did!

NASH DEETS

Hotel: Noelle Downtown about 3 blocks from Broadway. Great location and service! Highly recommend

Restaurants: 5th and Taylor, True Food, Adele’s, Makeready (inside the Hotel) All great and not totally overblown portions, super tasty!

Broadway: We only went to one restaurant/bar (Honky Tonk Central)on Broadway since there is a limitation on people inside, once we found our great band and table we stayed for the night. We didn’t want to be stuck waiting in line at another bar in case they were at capacity too, plus last call is 10:30pm — so really there isn’t a ton of time to bar hop around.

Bars and restaurants are SO thankful to be open and able to have a job and we were happy to support! Just like at home, wearing your mask indoors and up until you walk up to the table is required- and plenty of space is available in the bar for social distancing. You must stay seated at the table and no dancing.

Despite it all, I had a GREAT time! I would for sure go back even under the current restrictions! I know Nashville would greatly appreciate us going and keeping the tourism alive in their city– so if you feel so inclined I highly encourage you to go!

The girls and I have been talking about a trip since the last time we saw each other in December in Florida! Jocelyn and Allie are mine and Natasha’s FASTerWay Coaches and we have all been friends going along in our healthy living journeys! They introduced me to Savvi, so we set up this trip to dive a bit deeper.

I wanted to learn more, not just for me– but for you. My job is to help others, whether it be helping you select an OOTD, decide what to make for dinner, or what candle to buy– but sometimes it can go a little deeper. This is an opportunity I learned about, and I CANNOT keep it to myself simply because I know what it’s like to not have a choice. To feel trapped in doing a job I don’t love and it made me feel terrible. I never liked not being able to call my own shots and make a decision for myself.

This Opportunity with Savvi really TRULY dropped right into my lap, and I searched to figure out why– and WHY, is to tell you about it. So many of us have felt the same way I did just a few short years ago, and I NEVER want anyone to feel that way again. At some point along my own journey, I needed to rise up. Take my chance and do it, not just for me but for my family too. Savvi is a new opportunity for women of every size, shape and every background– to take control and gain that independence we ALL deserve to feel.

Let me catch you up real quick:

What is Savvi? Savvi is a size inclusive company with three lines, Fit (activewear and athleisure), Everyday, and Lux items. Becoming an ambassador is simple, you are given a website to track your sales, your own shopping app, and marketing tools to keep your sales on track.

How Do I Share it? The process is simple…wear and share. Which is basically what we are all doing over here these days, right? I mean, how many of us are living the everyday athleisure life? Raise your hand. Pretty much all of us. If you are wearing it on the daily anyways, why not share and make a little extra money?

In Short: Becoming an ambassador, You’ll get that money BACK in shopping credit, then get an additional 25-30% off any future purchases that you make.  Coupons to share with others, then you can also wear those clothes and share them with others and maybe make a little extra money.  And not to mention you get to be on our team with all my expertise on the Wear and Share Model.

Take 11 Minutes and watch this video my friend Allie Put together–typing it out is great but this video explains the reasons we have all been praying for a chance like this one.

Allie Made this Short 11 Minute Video that might help you along the way of deciding if this is the right opportunity for you!

Ok, I watched Allie’s video and was like. CHECK CHECK CHECK — all the things, where do I go from here, where do I sign? I mean kinda no brainer IMO- but this isn’t about me, its about you. What works for you and what makes the most sense. The Next video is simply helping you decide which starter pack you want to get into.

Needing to decide on which package to select? Here is a little video that breaks down the top two options ( I went with the Core) I wanted to pick out my own items and getting share coupons.

If you made it this far– then this is for you. I decided that I wanted to add in a little more fun. If you watched the videos- then you likely already have an idea of what you wanted to do, but I want to make sure that if you have a moment where you said “I just need a sign” — this would be it.

For just a select few for the next few days I am offering a little Extra when you take the plunge into this chance to make Independence All Yours.

From now until Sunday SEPTEMBER 27, 2020- When you sign up to be an Ambassador with me I will give you $50 If you do the Core Pack and $125 if you choose the Core Plus back in your pocket! Yep, when you select either the Core or Core Plus Package, Screenshot your registration and I will send you up to $125 dang bucks. This cash offer to you from me isn’t going to be forever and I can only offer it for a little bit. Would love to take the first steps to your own independence together.

September Amazon Haul

September 13, 2020

We all love a good Amazon Find- we have been trying to do Monthly Fashion and Home Hauls and I THINK its a real crowd pleaser! You can find my previous hauls from earlier in the Summer Here and Here. Now we are transitioning into Fall– and so GIVE ME ALL THE CARDIGANS and easy sweaters! Check out more on instagram Stories– but the full haul and some outfit styling ideas are linked below!

This Gray Cardigan is SOOOOOO cozy. Love the sleeve detail and its slightly thicker than a few others so its a great layering piece for further in the fall.
This is a fine knit style cardigan more lighter weight – still runs TTS great for layering!

Weekend Away At Disney World!

September 1, 2020

Hey! Recently travelled to Walt Disney world on a TOTAL last minute trip before school starts! Boys were so excited to tell them we are leaving in less than 24 hours! Happy to share our experience given this is the first time we have travelled as a family since Christmas!

A little background- we are Disney Vacation Club members so this is not our first time going to Walt Disney– I do have a previous blog post I wrote about our my 5 Favorite Things to Do at Disney. The Boys are great travelers, they are adaptive and truly surprised me with their stamina even with it being so hot! Each day approached 100 degrees! I don’t push them past their point of exhaustion just for the sake of I spent the money to get in, Our typical time to spend in the park any given day is no more than 4/5 hours at a time. Every family approaches Disney in their own way, which is a beautiful thing– I recently asked that you give me your questions regarding my thoughts on travel and this destination given our current state of affairs.

Quick thoughts: Disney is doing ( I believe) everything they possibly can to make your experience a safe and happy one. We had an amazing time, and the service we received as ALWAYS was above and beyond! But they can’t do it all, in some situations it just isn’t possible to be a full 6 ft away from someone, and touching items in the store or riding rides, you’re needing to sanitize your own hands (which we did) and they have tons around at every corner. They are cleaning things left and right, but is it possible to clean every single ride in between every single person? I personally don’t think so. So we just used our best judgement, welcomed their help in keeping us all safe. 🙂

Mask Policy: It is required to wear a mask at all times with very few exceptions. 1. When stationary and actively eating or 2. In the Pool area, swimming or at your chair etc. I did NOT see anyone remove their masks for photos or deviate from this policy. Yes, it was hot but once we got there and in the grove it wasn’t so bad. A change to eating in general is that we all do a lot of snacking on the go– in order to eat and remove our masks we needed to sit or stand away from others. No walking and eating.

Cast Members were even more amazing— they are in full cast outfit, long sleeves, hats the whole magical bit— still wearing their masks and HAPPILY doing their jobs. They worked SO hard to give us incredible service and went out of their way if we needed something. Once I saw that, it really changed my perspective on my own complaining per say.

#1 Tip: Download the My Disney Experience App. I used this all day everyday for up to date and real time information regarding all things Disney. All your questions, purchases, reservation, dining information can all be made there. I can really tell they have invested a TON of time into that app so you can have all the information you need at your fingertips!

Happy to share my thoughts!

Did you find it cheaper OR just more worth the money because it was less crowded? I did not find either to be true. It was less crowded, however there are less experiences available at this time and its not cheaper, cost of everything is the same.

How was the airline? We flew Southwest, plane looked visibly more clean than prior times. Boarding was in groups of 10 to allow for Social Distancing and they ask there to be middle seats open unless sitting with your family. Great experience overall, but I usually do anyway!

Is it true there is no park hopping? No park hopping– single park tickets available only. It is now required to make a reservation at the park the day you are going to for the day, you can come back and forth to the same park however from your hotel.

How were the lines? Were you able to ride a lot? Magic Kingdom, yes- wait times were 10-20 minutes and the rides are closer together in distance so its easy to get off one and get on another. Animal Kingdom, no- wait times there were 20-60 minutes depending on the ride and the distance to walk is pretty far from each one.

What couldn’t you do because of the new COVID policies that you missed most? We had a fairly normal visit given that we don’t go-go-go at the park. But we missed the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

Fireworks? Sadly no fireworks right now.

Are there any Parades at all? At both Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom we saw a little float — that would be in a parade but it was all alone dancing and singing. That’t about the extent of the parade situation

Can you monorail visit other resorts? Yes for sure. Monorails are operating like normal 2 things different- Your temperature is taken before you get on and every other car is reserved to be empty in order to create distance between yourself and others.

Are pools open? YES! And boy are they always a great time!

Did you do a meal plan? No meal plans are available right now, otherwise I would have done a quick service plan

Would you have gone if it was your first trip there with your kids? No. three Things I think about: Fireworks, character greetings, parades. Also wearing a mask was pretty much a drag- though the boys didn’t complain at all– I would obviously rather do without.

Can you take pictures with the characters? No character greetings right now.

Are they cleaning before the rides? So I did not see anyone cleaning in between each rider, but did see them spraying one of the rides down — I can only assume that was a sanitizer– I bet though there is more information on the app about it. 🙂

Are they still doing Fast Passes? No fast passes right now

How far in advance did you book? the day before? LOL not typical with our vacation points, and our home resort is usually booked, but I jumped at the chance when I thought the time was right!

Joining DVC worth it? We LOVE the vacation club. We use every bit of our points every year, and enjoy the flexibility it brings — we can book 11 months in advance at our “Home” resort, which is the Floridian- we are allowed access at all the properties and can use the points anywhere we want to go. We love our home resort as well! Its truly the BEST service and a place we can call home! At the time we purchased our points, there was only one other resort to buy into, and this was a no brainer location. We also did not research any other timeshares because this made a TON of sense for us– no regrets!

Did you use Magical Express and Disney Transportation? Yes! distancing rules are in place there as well- and we felt great riding! Per usual!

Are you also Annual Passholders or just DVC Members? We in the past have done annual passes, but we don’t now. I don’t want the pressure of using the pass in order to make the ROI work so we just purchase once we go!

Was it hot wearing a mask? Yes. So hot. Almost didn’t go for that very reason, but decided that we could deal with it for a short time. The boys did not complain and adapted quickly — I was personally miserable with a mask on initially but got used to after a while. — But I don’t like to be told what to do, so that is pretty much my personality. 🙂 RULES are you need to be wearing your mask at all times if you are not actively eating, and you cannot walk and eat. You need to be stationary.

How did Dining go? Our typical MO with dining is we fly by the seat of our pants- we don’t do character greetings or sit down reservations — we are quick service all the way. (Boys don’t care too much and I feel like it caters more to the girls with princess experiences anyway) This last visit I did need to modify. Not everything is open, I am assuming since they aren’t at full capacity– and MOST quick service locations want you to order on their app- (easy, tell them what you want and a window you will be there to pick right up so you don’t need to wait in line.) This system worked great and honestly would be fine to just go ahead and keep that! We did take a look at dining reservations for the evening at Disney Springs- and there were quite a few places available even on short notice. Ended up eating at Rainforest Cafe and Wolfgang Pucks restaurants— overall an orderly and calm experience and so yummy!

How was the crowd? Did people follow Social Distancing? Great! I don’t know exact numbers but maybe 40-50% of what I typically experience there pre-COVID. LOVE that we could walk around leisurely and not be tripping over people like we typically do. Everyone for the most part kept their distance and respected others.

Are the Shops and restaurants open at the park? Yes! not all of the restaurants are open– they aren’t at full capacity so its understandable its not all full force. But there’s plenty of dining and shopping options!

Did you feel your hotel room was cleaned or did you disinfect as well? I have always felt that our stays on the property have been VERY clean and sanitized, so I wouldn’t have even thought about this prior to- However, the housekeeping staff did take extra steps to ensure the room is cleaned for each guest. I know this 1. there is a wrapper around each TV remote indicating it has been sanitized. 2. there is a little sign next to the TV (should have taken a pic) listing out exactly what they do above and beyond regular cleaning to ensure proper cleaning! 😉

I hate to give you the spoiler right out of the gate, but this might be one of my favorite Amazon finds– I had the camel color from last year, but grabbed a different color this year to share you both.. YA need. K?! Wearing a size large.
Here is the gray again, cutest color block! Couple other color options too!
This is a great layering top that is kind of a jersey material– but still a cozy little lining on the inside too. LOVE the tunic style length, and it will be great for layering!
Another great little layering tunic length top- I have it on with denim right now but this for sure is also great with leggings– I am wearing the size large but if you are in between you can size down. 🙂
Never quitting cozy and soft cardigans anytime soon! 🙂 This camel color is LIFE looks so good over black and all white like how I styled it! 🙂 Theres a few more color options, suggest getting your true size and I am in a large.
This dress was a popular style from last month, and as I am writing, its BACK IN STOCK! Love the jersey knit and transitions great for fall with a cardigan!

Home Finds:

I have been UBER Obsessed with this scent– smells like a Hotel IMO–When I got it this week, I went ahead and ordered diffusers for all the bedrooms since the boys even loved it! 🙂 Went ahead and also grabbed a few actual essential oils for the boys as well, I have a few more expensive higher quality EO- but I thought we could use a little extra and play with them a bit to learn more!

Random Food and Kitchen Finds

Just linking up a few more of our favorites from last month– would love to see your favorite kitchen gadgets you have or know about on Amazon! Always looking for more, and its so fun to find! 🙂

I am REALLY Trying to increase my water intake– I bought this Gallon Jug container to help keep track! I just pour into my water cup so I don’t carry it around with me all over the place. LOL
Slightly pricey for honey, but it has a little kick and its soooo good! I have been eating it over my sweet potatoes and its soo good! Try it on Pizza! Colorado Ladies know what I am talking about! 🙂
