As the 10 year anniversary of my decision to make a real change in my life draws near, I’m taking a moment to reshare that journey with you. CLICK HERE to read the full in-depth story of my weight loss journey.

This post is going to be a little different than your usual “New Year, New You” post because creating real, lasting change is about more than just going to the gym. It is about creating healthy, sustainable habits that fit naturally into your everyday life and actually stick long after January. In this post, we are focusing on simple, realistic shifts that support your well-being and help you step into the year feeling balanced, confident, and energized, without the pressure of perfection.

Kitchen Favorites

Meal prepping or even just cooking at home can seem like the most daunting task, especially for those who are not natural chefs or don’t enjoy cooking, but it’s one thing I highly recommend. And it’s not just about saving calories, cooking for yourself will give you a sense of pride and accomplishment! Also, cooking for you and your partner, your friends, or your family creates a warm and inviting environment for connecting with those you love. Meal prepping can be especially helpful because you don’t have to think about what you’re going to eat everyday, and it saves you time throughout the week.

Night Time Routine

Sleep is so important when working on your physical and mental health! When you’re working out a lot, sleep helps your muscles recover. Even if you’re not working out a ton, no one likes the feeling of being tired and dragging all day. This is where a solid nighttime routine comes in. Allow yourself enough time (on the days you can) to do your skincare, maybe drink a sleepy time tea, and read a book or do a devotional that is not on your phone!

Women’s Winter Activewear

Moving your body is so important! Movement is just as beneficial to your mental health as it is to your physical health. Even a 20 minute walk outside in the sun can work wonders on my mood. These are some winter activewear items that will keep you warm and stylish! Because, honestly, going to the gym is so much better in a new workout set!
